For almost seventy years human impact on the planet and on our past has grown dramatically, giving rise to a new epoch: the Anthropocene, an era in which we are destroying the past to build the present and the future.
This is the reality that archaeologist and cultural heritage expert Federico Zaina describes after a decade of research: with the Atlante del passato perduto he takes us to places on Earth as significant as they are now inaccessible.
In conversation with photojournalist Federico Borella.
Archaeologist and cultural heritage expert, he has taken part in and led archaeological missions in Italy, Albania, Syria, Turkey and Iraq. He has been a researcher and lecturer at the University of Bologna and the Polytechnic University of Milan, and now heads the Collections and Research Department at the Egyptian Museum in Turin.
Part of the Le Voci dei Libri series, in collaboration with Coop Alleanza 3.0.
6.30 pmJean Echenoz’s latest novel follows Robert Bristol, a B-movie director marked by precarious loves and many failures. Weaving together cinema, fiction and illusion, Echenoz questions the very meaning of creation. With Giorgio Pinotti, Editor in Chief of Adelphi.
6.30 pmMatteo Nucci retraces Plato’s life through the places, encounters and loves that shaped it: a human portrait in which eros guides the search for justice and happiness. The book was one of the six finalists for the 2026 Strega Prize.
6.30 pmWhat happens when fashion meets the body? Maria Luisa Frisa reads clothes as cultural devices that generate identities, desires and imaginaries, and shows that the body is never given once and for all, but constantly negotiated and rewritten.
6.30 pmMarco Antonio Bazzocchi reconstructs the apartment at Via Fondazza 36 in Bologna, where Giorgio Morandi lived and worked with his sisters from 1930 to 1964: the studio, the objects, the kitchen, the light. Not today’s museum, but the home as it was.
6.30 pmPhysicist and science writer Devis Bellucci guides us through the pitfalls of statistical analysis: the spurious correlations that abound in the media, what clinical trials really prove, and how science guards against the whims of chance.
6.30 pmCaught between the power of technology and the economy and the resistance of the great sovereign powers, Kaos becomes the very shape of the world. Massimo Cacciari and Roberto Esposito hold a philosophical dialogue on global disorder and on the orders possible today.
